Summary:
Plan, layout and perform all bench and machine operations to construct, alter and repair intricately designed and constructed tools, dies, fixtures, gauges, machine attachments and mechanisms.
Essential Functions:
Layout work and plan machining and bench procedures.
Perform machining operations requiring setups of tooling and machines to accurately perform various machining operations.
Perform bench and assembly operations to fit, align, adjust, assemble and finish work.
Create standard work process/procedure Establish inspection methods to ensure process conformance Perform precision machining using CNC and manual equipment.
Produce quality product by reading process sheets, routings and part drawings, inspecting work using designated inspection equipment, performing mathematical calculations.
Perform material handling duties required to load/unload jobs in machine tool.
Consistently demonstrate a high degree of skill and extensive knowledge of tooling practices and applications; set up, adjust, and operate machine shop equipment Ability to perform difficult/technical calculations with decimals and fractions, use and interpret a wide variety of precision measuring instruments and exacting measurements, work from complicated drawings and specifications Accountable for quality workmanship and dimensional accuracy of assigned work in accordance with established procedures and standards; properly trained and informed personnel.
Strong inter-personal skills needed to effectively support others in performing their duties and responsibilities.
Ability to organize workflow and set priorities in accordance with established procedures and daily instructions
Qualifications:
Previous tool & die experience.
Demonstrated experience making visual, dimensional, electrical, or mechanical tests of materials, processes, assemblies, or sub-assemblies.
Demonstrated experience using a variety of precision measuring instruments and test equipment.
Strong computer skills.
COMPETENCIES:
Knowledge of tool manufacturing processes, tool setting processes and ability to use and a variety of technical instruments and devices.
Ability to read drawings and prints.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work performed in an air-conditioned machine shop environment.
Minor exposure to heat, noise, dust and dirt, grease, oils and metal treating solutions, moving machinery and equipment, electrical power.
Personal protective equipment required in designated areas.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Good eye/hand coordination and finger dexterity; excellent vision and depth perception; ability to read and comprehend detailed, written instructions; ability to lift 20-50 lbs.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
